A WOMAN accidentally knocked herself out as she tried to flee from a robber.
The 36-year-old victim was walking along Armadale Road, Ladybridge, on her way to work when a blue four door saloon car pulled up beside her.
A man got out of the rear passenger door and shouted "excuse me". Convinced she was about to be the victim of a robbery, the woman tried to run off.
In her panic, she accidentally fell over, knocking herself out and breaking a finger in the process.
When she came round several minutes later, the woman discovered her bag had been stolen. The victim walked the short distance to her home and rang the emergency services. She was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital where she was kept in for three days and is now recovering at home.
The man is described as white, aged between 16 and 17, 5ft 4ins, thin build, with very short shaven hair. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, blue jacket and blue trousers. Anyone with information about the incident on Monday at around 8.15am is asked to call Bolton Robbery Squad on 0161 856 5652.
