A FRESH appeal has been made for help in identifying three youths who tipped a disabled woman out of her wheelchair and tried to rob her.
The 39-year-old victim had been shopping at Asda in Market Street, Farnworth, and was loading the bags in her car when she was approached by the youths. They tipped the wheelchair, throwing her to the floor, and started searching through her handbag.
The woman claimed shoppers stood by and watched as she lay helpless on the floor during the attack, on July 4.
After several minutes, a Good Samaritan intervened and the three teenagers ran off empty-handed.
The victim was left extremely traumatised and is too scared to leave her home.
Police have issued a description of the main offender, who was wearing a very distinctive ear ring. It was silver and shaped like an elongated tear drop, almost in a "C" shape. He is described as white, aged around 15, with blond hair. He was wearing a navy blue jumper, dark tracksuit bottoms and trainers.
Anyone with information is asked to call Bolton Robbery Unit on 0161 856 5652 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
