Woking v Leigh RMI: PHIL Starbuck is hoping for more consistent refereeing after seeing his Leigh RMI side fall foul of the officials twice in their opening two Conference matches.
The Railwaymen were leading in their opening game against Crawley when a ball, smashed straight at Martin Moran, hit his hand. The referee gave a penalty and Leigh subsequently lost 2-1.
Tuesday's match at Burton Albion was just five minutes old when skipper Gareth Stoker was sent off for a professional foul only five yards inside the RMI half.
Starbuck said: "Last season, it appeared that we did not get the rub of the green, and I am hoping that is not going to be the case this time."
Leigh produced a battling display at Burton to earn a 0-0 draw.
"The performance was very encouraging as we showed a lot of character and passion," Starbuck said. "I hope we can carry that into the Woking game.
"They can score but they can also leak in goals. I am hopeful my defenders will be able to contain them and that we can find the target."
Starbuck was impressed with new signing Gregor Rioch, who went straight into the side a day after joining RMI.
