Wigan Athletic v Brighton: CHAMPIONSHIP leaders Wigan Athletic are being told to ignore the league table when bottom club Brighton visit the JJB Stadium.
Latics boss Paul Jewell has guided his side to the top of the table after they won two and drew the other of their opening three games.
But Brighton will have last season's leading scorer Leon Knight available for the first-time this season, as he has completed a three-match ban.
And Jewell is warning of the dangers that Mark McGhee's side will pose.
Jewell said: "Last season the defeat to bottom club Wimbledon arguably stopped us getting into the play-offs, so we won't be underestimating Brighton in any way.
"League tables don't mean anything at this early stage of the season, and I will be stressing to the players the need to show the same determination and attitude that we've shown so far."
Former Wanderers defender Emerson Thome has moved a step closer to his Latics debut after playing a full 90 minutes for the reserves against Preston on Wednesday.
Thome is still regaining match fitness after signing for the Latics just days before the start of the Football League season.
