Bury v Chester by Phil Thorp: FORMER Chester defender Colin Woodthorpe will go straight back into Bury's line up to face his former club.
Woodthorpe, who started his career at Chester in the late 1980s, was suspended as the Shakers crashed 5-1 at Grimsby in Coca Cola League Two last Saturday.
The one-match ban was automatically imposed following the 35-year-old's sending off at Bristol Rovers 10 days ago.
And Shakers boss Graham Barrow is hoping that Woodthorpe's return will help the Shakers get back on track after their miserable afternoon at Grimsby.
The Bury boss -- himself a former Chester favourite -- and his assistant Kelham O'Hanlon have been working hard with the players all week to eradicate the defensive errors that littered the second half at Blundell Park.
"There were certain aspects in the second half last week that we hadn't seen in the previous two games, or even in the first half at Grimsby," said Barrow.
"There was a lack of strength and defensive nous at the back, but that's not an excuse.
"We've pointed out one or two things in training and hopefully will have put it right.
"A scout watching last week said to Kelham that while we were playing football Grimsby were scoring goals. That summed it up to me."
Barrow had two spells as manager at Chester, leading the club to promotion from the Third Division -- now League Two -- in 1994.
Chester caretaker-manager Ray Mathias was aiming to bring in two loan players in time for Saturday's match, after learning that striker Daryl Clare needs a hernia operation and wil be out for up to six weeks.
Mathias took charge after Mark Wright resigned a day before the start of the season.
