KARON Unsworth and Gill Cuttill won the Bolton Past Captains' Association (Ladies) annual Greensome at Dunscar Golf Club on Monday.
Their nett score of 69.5 was enough to beat fellow Dunscar pair Doris Williams and Alison Platt into second place. Turton's Edna Wright and Kath Jackson were third.
Bessie Lester, the association's Captain of Captains, presented the prizes.
Helen Braddock, of the Old Links club, won the przie for the longest fairway drive at the 17th hole. Her fellow club member Joan Cheadle was nearest the pin at the 16th, and the hidden hole competition was won by Joan Nicholson and Judith Simms, with 13 on the first, 17th and 18th holes.
Results: 1. Karon Unsworth/Gill Cuttill (Dunscar) 90-20.5 nett 69.5; 2. Doris Williams/Alison Platt (Dunscar) 92-18.5 nett 73.5; 3. Edna Wright/Kath Jackson (Turton) 100-26 nett 74.
