IN reply to your Lifestyle article dated August 17 about young drinkers and real ale.
I am in my 50s and a real ale drinker who has made his own small study of lager drinking over the past few years. I have spoken to various people, from teenagers to people in their 40s, who have become aggressive after several lagers. I managed to convince them to turn to beer for one week and the difference was amazing. No aggression at all, and no severe hangovers the day after.
Some have stayed with beer, others have reverted back to lager and their aggressive ways.
Conclusion: If lager was banned and replaced by beer, town centres and pubs in general would be safer. There must be chemicals in lager which alter the brain patterns for the worse.
Most beer drinkers will tell you the more they drink, the happier they become.
This is the opposite with lager.
