YOUR Gridlock story in the Bolton Evening News on Wednesday, August 18, didn't even mention Blackburn Road, where queues were backed up from roadworks on Darwen Road right back to Asda junction.
Where are the planners? Let me give them a few tips:
1. Make contractors work all daylight hours.
2. Ensure lights are staggered to meet the flow of traffic - one side of the lights queues to Asda, the other side nothing.
3. Don't close Thicketford Road and Darwen Road at the same time.
4. The works on Darwen Road could be avoided by either opening Hough Lane or diverting traffic round by the Flag and Arnold Road.
The last two nights it has taken me an hour to do just over three miles. Thousands are in the same boat.
Pathetic is the only word for traffic planning in North Bolton.
