I CHOOSE to live on Crompton Way and therefore recognise that, when essential works are required to maintain the road surface, I will have to endure some inconvenience.
The workforce carrying out these repairs has achieved a tremendous amount since starting work at 6am on Saturday, August 14, and have made every effort to minimise the disruption to residents.
It is sad that the motorists of Bolton, whom I presume require our local roads to be maintained, cannot be a little more tolerant. The lady who feels that work should carry on overnight so that she can get home from work in 10 minutes instead of 40 (Bolton Evening News, August 18), irrespective of the fact that local residents would have no sleep at all, shows little consideration for others. How did we ever survive without the car!
