IT was a great start to the season last weekend at home to Charlton Athletic.

We were all pleased to see Jay-Jay score his first Premiership goal for more than 12 months and it must be an early contender for goal of the season. Henrik also continued where he left off last season with two good goals -- it was a real bonus to score four goals on the opening day.

We made the trip to Fulham in the rain on Friday on the coach. The weather has been terrible all week for training. You don't expect the pitches to be waterlogged in August.

With the Junior Whites events getting into full swing already I'm sure it won't be too long before I see you at one of the fantastic party events which are being organised. I'd like to pass on my thanks to all the members that took part in the Reebok Ramble two weeks ago.

Junior Whites Parties are back this season. We kick off on Monday, September 6, when we'll be celebrating Greece's Success at Euro 2004 with a European theme. The party will be held in the Premier Suite from 6.45 - 8.30pm.

Some of your favourite players will be there along with Lofty the Lion and we'll have more fun activities for members to take part in, including the chance to win some fantastic prizes and to be a match day mascot (winners of the mascot prize must be aged six or over, if they are younger they will be placed on a waiting list until they reach this age.)

All children must be accompanied by an adult and tickets are £2 per member, adults pay £1 on the evening. Members must bring no more than two adults with them to the event.

Tickets are now on sale and available from the Promotions Department or by calling the Junior Whites Hotline on 01204 673770.

Junior Whites Friday night football has proved to be very popular amongst members, so we have increased the number of sessions available to our members to accommodate more Junior Whites from September. To register your interest in attending the sessions contact the Junior Whites department.

From September 4 we are offering a new 'Junior Whites Saturday Cup' competition for 9-11 and 12-13 year olds at Bolton Arena from 12noon until 1.30pm every Saturday afternoon. This competition will give members the chance to compete for prizes playing in small sided matches against other Junior Whites. These sessions cater for members of all abilities.

If you want to take part in a guaranteed fun tournament every week without the pressure of shouting managers and muddy pitches then this is for you, with lots of weekly prizes.

Don't forget it's now free to be a Junior Whites member, call for an application form.
