HAVEN'T we got enough speed humps in Farnworth? I drive around the town in my job and one day I drove over 180 humps.
Isn't it time our traffic bosses thought of other schemes?
What Market Street needs is another pedestrian crossing, and railings near Brackley Street to stop people wandering around in the middle of the road, as they do at present.
Has anyone from the council planning department actually been to see the area in question?
Carlton Street, Trafford Street, Church Road and Clammerclough are reduced to one lane by parked vehicles. Rawson Street is usually blocked by vehicles at the wood yard. It is not possible to get any speed up because you are always giving way to oncoming traffic.
The council is spending money in an attempt to get people to shop in Farnworth - putting speed humps and 20mph limits on what is supposed to be the main road through the town will not help.
