music lovers are looking forward to the annual brass band performances at Farnworth Park.
Hundreds of people are expected to turn up at the bandstand on August 29, to listen to the Heaton, Farnworth and Walkden Band.
Stuart White, from Bolton Council's Leisure Services, said: "These music days are very popular with around 400 people coming to listen. It's something for the older generation and part of a programme of bands playing across the parks in Bolton."
This comes as a boost for residents in Farnworth after plans for a summer festival in Farnworth Park were shelved earlier this month.
Council bosses ruled out the possibility of the show, that last year featured stalls, dog shows and fun fair attractions, taking place in September.
Cllr Noel Spencer said: "Let's hope there will be crowds around the old bandstand."
On September 12, the Moss Leigh Brass Band will perform a concert at Moss Bank Park.
And, it's good news, particularly now that the Bolton Show has been cancelled.
