BOLTON'S newest park is set to be created in Tonge Moor under plans to revitalise open spaces.
More than £650,000 of East Bolton regeneration money has been earmarked to improve green land, including the creation of a new park, Glaisdale Park.
The park, off Tonge Moor Road will include a children's play area, garden and a cycle track for toddlers.
Residents have been involved in the consultation process, with discussions with youngsters next month when they will be asked what kind of equipment they want in the park.
The revitalisation of parks in East Bolton is part of the Sport, Play and Recreation Facilities project.
Tonge councillor Nick Peel, said: "Glaisdale Park will become Bolton's newest park. It used to be an old park and after listening to residents who wanted it restored, we have drawn up plans to restore it to its former glory."
Work has already begun to refurbish a hut on Tonge Moor Park, which will be used by a bowling club and a parents' group.
And there are plans to turn green space land off Waggon Road into another park for residents.
