SHAKERS' boss Graham Barrow is hoping Burnley boss Steve Cotterill will be suffering deja vu at the end of Tuesday night's Carling Cup first round clash.
The new Clarets chief has bad memories of Gigg Lane and this competition after being dumped out at the first round stage two years ago while manager of First Division Stoke City.
A Jamie Stuart goal was the difference between the two sides that night and the Shakers went on to record a fabulous 1-0 triumph over Premiership neighbours Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok in the next round before bowing out to a star-studded Fulham side at Loftus Road after that.
What would Barrow give for another moneyspinning run like that this time around?
It's an unbeaten Burnley side that will travel down the M66, buoyed by an impressive start to the new campaign.
At the weekend they picked up a useful point from a 1-1 home draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Barrow is well aware that his charges will need to be at the top of their game if they are to cause a shock.
"It's a tough draw and it's important we go out and give it our best shot," he said.
"It's a home tie against local rivals and we can do ourselves a lot of good by going through to the next round.
"Steve's stamping his authority on the team, they are well organised and they have some technically gifted players, but we are playing some decent football too.
"It's a nice game for our players because they shouldn't be under too much pressure and it's a good chance for our lads to show what they can do in front of the TV cameras.
"Everyone knows that a cup run is vital to the club and we'd come out of the game with a lot of credit if we beat them."
Barrow will be without the services of defenders Danny Swailes (thigh), Colin Woodthorpe (suspended) and striker Graeme Jones who hasn't recovered enough from the calf strain that kept him out of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Chester.
He'll wait as long as possible to give Matt Barrass (calf) every chance to be fit for the derby clash which should draw the club's biggest crowd of the season so far.
Central defender Paul Scott seems sure to get his second outing in a Bury shirt after his impressive debut at the weekend.
The former Huddersfield player is hoping to sign on full-time with the Shakers after joining on non-contract terms.
Despite dropping two home points at the weekend Barrow is pleased with the progress his squad is making and reckons they can still make an impact on League Two once the campaign gets into full flow.
"We needed to bounce back after the heavy defeat at Grimsby, we wanted a win but didn't get the result our football deserved," he said.
"I was a bit disappointed we didn't start the game like we did the second half but they are an honest bunch of lads and are learning lessons.
"There's no doubt we have some good players but we just need to cut down on the mistakes, that's what cost us at the weekend because Chester didn't create anything.
"We'll still judge our progress after ten games, we're going in the right direction and that's the main thing.
"Our standard of football in on the right lines and you'd like to think it will pay dividends over a season if we continue like that."
Kick-off tonight is 7.45pm.
