YOUR review in Monday's Bolton Evening News of the Bolton Arts Forum event in the Albert Halls on Sunday night may have been worthy of a news item "shock horror, empty seats in the Albert Halls", but was not a true reflection of the evening.

Yes, there was some disappointment that a relatively small number of outsiders turned out for the event (prices too high, Sunday night, school holidays?), but the numbers in the Hall were closer to 200 than the 30 people reported.

The performers had a great time at what was a wonderful demonstration of the diversity of culture that there is in Bolton. What the review also failed to communicate was the fun and enthusiasm that we all put into the performance and the opportunity we had to learn from each so that we can improve in the future. The event was well organised by Shonagh Ingham, and I hope neither performers nor potential audiences will be put off from doing something like this again.
