AN urgent appeal has been made to trace the owner of two Boxer dogs found wandering around Rivington.
The tan-coloured dogs, a male and a female, were found near Rivington Barn at 11 pm on Monday, August 16.
They are older dogs and are greying around the muzzle. Both were wearing red collars, they had been well cared for and did not appear to have been abandoned.
The RSPCA is desperate to trace the owner as the seven-day deadline for the dogs to be cared for at Leigh Cats and Dogs Homes has passed. The dogs may now be rehomed or even destroyed.
The RSPCA is paying for them to be looked after for a few more days in the hope the owner will come forward.
The owner or anyone who knows the dogs should call the RSPCA on 01204 521160.
