A Young boy made it to the last 23 in a national chess competition in Sheffield last weekend.
Stephen Williams, aged eight, a pupil at St John's primary school, Bromley Cross, played six matches and won two, playing children older than himself. A member of Bolton Chess Club, Stephen managed to beat an under-17 qualifier.
