OPUS, the Bolton-based commercial insurance broker, has been awarded the contract to insure adventure assault course company Go Ape!
The contract will see the specialist leisure insurance team at Opus arrange insurance cover for Go Ape!'s five centres across the UK, including Grizedale Forest in the Lake District, Sherwood Pines in Nottinghamshire and a new centre at Bracknell Forest, Berkshire.
Set in the tree-tops of UK forests, Go Ape!'s aerial assault courses feature networks of rope bridges, slides and Tarzan swings designed for fun days out. It was voted Rural Tourist Attraction of the Year 2003 by the National Farmers' Union Countryside Awards.
The Go Ape! contract is among a number of recent wins for the leisure insurance team at Opus. Other clients now include Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire and Barry Island in South Wales. The company also arranges insurance cover for the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
Opus director Tom Gammell said: "The demand for exciting and extreme activity holidays and corporate team building events has intensified in recent years, requiring specialist insurance products which Opus is able to provide."
