LES Salmon created a new match record during the Wallwork Cup on Shore Top.

He set his stall out for bigger fish by fishing the method with worms and half a dozen carp duly obliged to give him the new record with a weight of 52lbs 1ozs.

New member Steve Burgess came second after the experienced match man caught two carp and a good bag of skimmers on the tip for 34lbs 12ozs.

Gerald Lawson had an all skimmer bag of 30lbs 5ozs for third place.

Jim Luby (20lbs), Peter Lee (19lbs 12ozs) and Mick Booth (17lbs) made up the minor placings.

Lord Nelson A.C. travelled to Woodland's Partridge Lake for an aggregate match and found patchy sport.

Trevor Hayes fished luncheon meat at 11 metres and weighed carp for 46lbs 12ozs for first place.

Lady member Charlene Stevens continued her advance up the aggregate table by taking second place with carp taken on sweetcorn and paste for 40lbs 8ozs.

Kenny Stewart was third with carp taken at 13 metres with meat for 37lbs 2ozs.

Marvin Hyde won Bolton River's annual cup match on Doe Hey with a 12lbs 6ozs carp and bits to total 19lbs.
