A BOLTON councillor who wants to extend his Astley Bridge home has had his planning application refused.
Cllr Stuart Lever wanted to build a single storey extension which would have formed an enlarged garage and kitchen. He also wanted to erect two-metre high fencing at the front and side of the extension.
But planning councillors were concerned about the roof and the fencing, which they said was not in character with houses in the area.

At yesterday's planning meeting, councillors overwhelmingly rejected the proposals.
