A SERIOUS accident is waiting to happen if motorists continue to flout traffic orders in Bolton town centre, police have warned.
They say drivers have been ignoring two orders which have been in place for as long as six months.
A no entry sign banning people from turning out of River Street into Bridgeman Place has been in force since March, but continues to be breached by drivers.
Police also say a sign banning drivers from turning left from St George's Road into Knowlsley Street is repeatedly ignored.
Sgt Scott Winters, of Bolton Police, said: "We don't want people to be caught and prosecuted, but if drivers continue to break the law they will be fined," he said.
officers would start penalising drivers they see flouting the orders.
