RESIDENTS in Eccleston and Heskin are celebrating the completion of a groundbreaking new housing scheme that aims to offer good quality, affordable homes to local people.
Four two-bedroomed, semi-detached properties in Gillcroft, Eccleston, are about to be offered to locals thanks to an innovative partnership between Chorley Borough Council, social housing provider Contour Homes and the Housing Corporation.
The houses, built on a former council garage site, will be offered to small families who live, work or have a long-standing connection with Eccleston or Heskin and qualify to purchase under the authority's low-cost home ownership scheme.
The homes, which are due to be competed at the end of September, are worth around £105,000 but are being allocated on a part rent, part buy basis.
Anyone interested in applying can contact Chorley Council on 01257 515515 or Contour Homes on 0800 917 8643.
