CHORLEY fought back from a two goal half-time deficit to beat Colwyn Bay 3-2 on Tuesday thanks to a hat-trick from Danny Queeley.
A dubious free kick on ten minutes proved to be Chorley's undoing in their opening day defeat at Spalding Town.
The quickly taken kick took the Chorley defence unawares and the home team were lucky not to attract an offside flag as Liam Nimmo ran on to score at the second attempt.
Andy Stanhope and Ian Dunn both went close for Spalding, but as Chorley got to grips with the game the better chances went their way.
Winger Ryan Hutchinson was denied an equaliser on the half-hour by goalkeeper Ian Pledger, who then kept out a close range effort by David Eatock before recovering to snatch the ball from Matt Swailes.
Despite much of the second period being played in Spalding's half, Chorley were unable to carve out any clear openings.
