AS regulars of Indiego/Hawthorns for many years, we felt compelled to offer our support to Gemma Norris and her partner.
In this day and age I am disgusted that a couple (regardless of age, race, sex or gender), were ordered to stop kissing, and, told they were in a "straight" club.
Okay, so they weren't asked to leave, but would you want to stay if you had been publicly humiliated for doing what plenty of other couples do in public?
Hawthorns/Indiego's reputation was built on providing a welcome refuge for Bolton's alternative population, alternative referring to any lifestyle differing from the norm.
There are many high street chains of pubs and clubs playing chart hits and enforcing dress codes, this one offered variety, open-mindedness, and value for money.
Since the refurbishment, we and many others have noticed the change of management's attitude.
