BRIERFIELD won the Division One Dixon Shield Final without being tested, when they defeated Darcy Lever Cricket Club C.
Darcy opened the batting with a score of 49 with Tracey Jones (15) and Sharon Howarth (11) the top scorers.
Brierfield scored 110 runs in their innings, with excellent batting performances from Charlotte Hamer (39), Sam Seymour (23), Lisa Jolly (15) and Gill Wright (12).
Darcy went into their second innings needing 61 to draw level, but were dismissed by Briefield for 58, leaving the final score 110(1)-107.
BRUFC made the final of the Healey Karwat Handicap when they beat Dale XI 237-204. T their opponents will be Lower Pools, who beat Gaskell Ladies 163(1)-30. It was a good week for the Pools, as they became champions of Section E after their win against Farnworth SC, a game that saw them take 10 players without conceding a run. Karen Maslivec was the top scorer with 24 runs.
In the Dorothy Clarke Handicap, Starlight XI beat Brownlow Ladies 194-145, and Wellington XI won against American Express, which puts them joint top of K Section on 26 points each, after they met in a game that saw the Wellington win 137-100. Michelle Clows (16) and Tracy Stott (14) were their top scorers. This week's final games will decide who takes the championship.
The finals of the Healey Karwat and Dorothy Clarke will take place on Sunday, September 12, at Darcy Lever CC. 1pm: Starlight XI v Wellington (scr), 2.30pm: Lower Pools (60) v BRUFC.
Jacksons Van Hire are champions of J Section after their win against third place Three Pigeons. Future XI beat Royal Bolton Hospital B 167-142 to claim Section N .
Chamberlain Doors' 105-72 defeat of Lostock Ladies leaves both teams locked at the top of Section 0. Chamberlain's Tracy Robinson (19) and Katie Clayton (18) were their top scorers.
The RRG Bolton Chadwick Cup Final takes place on Friday, September 3, at Heaton CC. The match between Rupert Ladies A and Darcy Lever A starts at 6.45pm.
The Blackburn Shield Final will also be played on Friday at Heaton CC. The Bowling Green and K2 Ladies match will start at 5.30pm.
The play-offs for section winners and runners up will be held on Sunday, September 5. The match secretary will inform teams of times. Teams who may be involved please ring in your results to the result secretary.
