Wanderers will renew old acquaintances when they travel to Yeovil Town in the Sky TV televised second round of the Carling Cup.
The teams met in the FA Cup four seasons ago, when Yeovil were still a Conference side and Wanderers, then in the First Division, won a third round tie 2-1 at the Reebok.
Wanderers, last season's beaten finalists, will make the long midweek journey to Somerset on September 21, kick-off 7.45pm, with the memory of last February's day at the Millennium Stadium still fresh in their -- and their fans' -- minds.
Wanderers had a reputation for fielding under-strength sides in the cups in the last few seasons but last season's success in reaching the final proves they take the knockout competitions seriously and the Reebok camp would relish going one better this season. Manchester City, disappointed with their Premiership start which has yielded just one point out of nine, will be delighted with a home draw against League One side Barnsley as they look for a cup run.
Oldham will be hoping to pull off a surprise when they entertain Spurs while Everton face a tricky visit to League One side Everton.
Full draw: Burnley v Wolves, Coventry v Sheff Wed, Milton Keynes Dons v Cardiff, Leicester v Mansfield/Preston, Oldham v Tottenham, Colchester v West Brom, Reading v Watford, Wrexham v Sheff Utd, Nottm For v Rotherham, Norwich v Bristol Rovers, Crewe v Sunderland, Tranmere v Portsmouth, Man City v Barnsley, Birmingham v Lincoln, Northampton v Southampton, Blackburn v Bournemouth, Grimsby v Charlton, Crystal Palace v Hartlepool, Boston/Luton v Fulham, West Ham v Notts Co, Leeds v Swindon, Aston Villa v QPR, Doncaster v Ipswich, Yeovil v Bolton, Bristol City v Everton.
Ties to be played week commencing September 20.
