A NORTH-west infantry battalion is calling on former soldiers to join their association.
Soldiers who served with the Black Watch are being asked to join The Black Watch Association - and help boost membership levels. There are 60 members with the North-west branch, 90 per cent of those served before 1960 and saw active service during the Second World War, Korean War and in Kenya.
The Association holds several social events throughout the year.
Peter Gilderleve, honorary secretary, said: "The North-west and Lancashire in particular has always been a fertile recruiting ground for the Regiment, and I am hoping that a call to the colours will bring some ex-members into the Association."
Anyone who wishes to join the Association should contact Mr Gildersleve on 01706 226458.
