WAYNE Rooney's Manchester United debut will have to wait until after their trip to the Reebok Stadium on September 11.
Rooney was due to have a scan on a foot injury on Thursday to determine when he will make his United debut - which is expected to be against Liverpool at Old Trafford nine days later.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said that the match against Wanderers would come too soon for Rooney.
Ferguson said: "He is not far away. We think it is only a matter of two or three weeks because he has been doing some running and trained yesterday morning, but we will be better placed to assess it later today."
