THE actions of a postmaster prevented his post office from being raided by two masked men.
They burst into the premises in Bolton Road, Atherton, at 2.30pm on Wednesday and demanded money.
The postmaster activated an alarm inside the shop and the two men fled empty-handed towards Douglas Street.
One of the men is believed to have been white, 6ft tall, of medium build and he was wearing a dark blue lumberjack jacket and a blue balaclava. The second man was white, of similar height.
Witnesses should contact Leigh CID on 0161 856 7345 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
