A TEENAGER is continuing to improve in hospital following a road accident in which her best friend was killed.
Leanne Keegan, aged 13, of Aster Avenue, Farnworth, suffered serious head injuries in the collision on Longcauseway, Farnworth, last month.
Following two weeks in intensive care, she is now being cared for in the high-dependency unit at the Royal Manchester's Children's Hospital, Pendlebury, where her condition is said to be stable and improving.
Her parents have kept a vigil at her bedside since the accident on Sunday, August 8.
Her best friend Carla Bate, also aged 13, of Primrose Avenue, Farnworth, died at the scene.
Steven Lewis, aged 35, of Westland Avenue, Farnworth, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
He is due to appear at Bolton Crown Court on October 15.
