PLANS are being considered to allow residents to extend their gardens over a strip of land on the boundary of Sharples High School.
Residents between 51 and 59 Langham Close are interested in leasing a strip of land from Bolton Council that lies between the perimeter fence of the school and their rear garden fences.
They plan to extend their gardens on to the "no man's land" which has been left unmaintained over the years and attracts fly tipping and litter.
Eileen Halliwell, asset management support officer wrote in a report to Executive member for Education, Cllr Carole Swarbrick: "It will remove an area of unkept land which in turn will remove potential eyesores, areas which are difficult to maintain, and reduce opportunities for trespassing, greatly improving security for both the residents and the school grounds."
The plans will be considered next week.
