I AM organising my first charity auction on behalf of Chorley Lions Club and would welcome the help of the people of Chorley to make it a great success.
The event is taking place on September 25 at Hollinshead Street United Reformed Church and I have already received a large number of celebrity donations, as well as support from local theatre, sports teams, restaurants and shops.
I am now asking the residents of Chorley to have a look in their attics, cupboards and sheds to see if there are any old pictures, posters, ornaments, football programmes or games gathering dust that may raise money, either at auction or on one of our bric-a-brac tables.
Please contact me and I will be delighted to pick it up.
All the proceeds of the auction shall be donated to the North West Air Ambulance.
You will all know of the valuable life-saving work of the air ambulance, but may not know that they rely on raising £60,000 per month from the public to keep them in the air, as they are not a publicly-funded emergency service.
If you would like to help, please contact me on 01257 231716 and keep September 25 free to pick up some fantastic bargains and maybe some unique early Christmas presents.
