SOME weeks ago I put collecting boxes in various shops in Little Lever, Radcliffe and Bolton. These were in aid of the terrible floods in the Dominion Republic and Haiti disaster. The amount came to just under £300 and I thank you all for your help.
And now, once again, I must thank you all for the collection I had for those starving children in Sudan. This collection brought £400.
Both collections came to nearly £700, and were collected by the Red Cross.
A further big thank you to our daughter, Rosemary, who, along with her friends, organised a Garden Party at her home on Saturday, August 7. It was opened by our new Madam Mayor at 3pm, and was a great success. It raised £600 for Derian House Children's Hospice.
These three collections brought just over £1,000.
My grand total now for the following charities has raised just over £20,000, for: floods, earthquakes, Children in Need, Dominion Republic Haiti, Sudan, Red Cross, Cancer Resource, Derian House, America 9/11, St James School Tradeday, and Help the Aged.
A big thank you to all.
