Fred's TV
show will
got on
despite
illness
FRED Dibnah's latest TV project is still on course to hit screens later this year despite his battle with cancer interrupting filming.
The celebrity steeplejack was taken ill on Tuesday as TV crews neared the end of work on "Made In Britain".
But his agent, Martin Nazaruk, said today that enough footage had been filmed for the show to go ahead on BBC2 later this year.
Fred, aged 66, is said to be "comfortable" at his home in Radcliffe Road, The Haulgh, after his latest bout of illness as he fights prostate cancer.
He was diagnosed with the disease three years ago and has since had a kidney removed and several rounds of chemotherapy treatment.
The programme has seen him tour the length and breadth of the country, visiting companies across the nation who contributed to the engineering developments of the past which helped industrially to put the great into Great Britain.
Mr Nazaruk said Fred, who received an MBE in the Queen's 2004 New Year honours list, would not make any public appearances during the next few months after pulling out of a show in Mansfield next Wednesday.
"He is comfortable at home and we're waiting to hear from his family and consultant before we make any decisions," he said.
"He was filming right up until Tuesday and the programmes are now finished."
