TENNIS ace John Lister came up with the goods just when it mattered most.
The Lostock player won his first county title when he beat Mark Schofield in the final of the men's singles on the final day of the Lancashire Tennis Championships at the Bolton Arena.
He did it again the men's doubles with another Boltonian Simon Roberts and only just missed out when along with Emma Tootell they were beaten in the final of the mixed doubles.
After low-key performances leading up to the final, Lister turned on the style to beat Blackburn's Schofield 6-3, 7-5 in one of the most action packed finals for many years.
There was an even tighter result in the men's doubles final when Lister and Roberts beat Schofield and Adrian Davies 7-5, 7-6.
