STEVE Coote has been crowned champion of the Greyhound Summer League.

This competition has been running for seven years, with Coote now winning it a record five times. The other two noted winners were Paul Williams and B Hatter.

Coote's semi-final match was against Hatter, which proved to be the best game of the night, both scoring 180s for fun.

Williams beat G Warburton in the other semi-final.

Coote and Williams scored well throughout the final, but Coote's finishing was good enough to enable him to retain the trophy.

The Plate Competition was won by A. Matthews, who overcame I. Haslam in the semi-final and G. Savidge in the final.
