A 12-MONTH-OLD baby girl suffered head injuries when a car overturned following a crash on the M61 on Sunday.
A Vauxhall Astra and a Citroen, were in a convoy travelling home from a wedding when they were when they collided on the southbound carriageway near to junction 2 for Kearsley at around 3pm.
The Citroen overturned and ended up on its roof on the grass embankment at the side of the motorway.
Fire crews freed the passengers by forcing open doors.
The baby suffered cuts to the head and face and was taken along with two adults to Hope Hospital, Salford.
Two adults who were travelling in the Astra were also taken to the hospital to be treated for shock.
All were discharged later.
