LIKE every woman on her big day, Suzie Dalton looked stunning as she pulled up at Mere Hall register office in Bolton to wed her fiance Gavin Douglas.

But it was not a traditional white wedding at the weekend.

The 34-year-old turned up on a Honda CBF motorbike with a bouquet of ribbons attached to the handlebars and was clad from head to toe in black leathers -- and she was not the only one.

Groom Gavin Douglas, aged 38, who was also dressed in motorbike leathers, arrived on a Honda Hornet for the ceremony.

Best man Andy Wilson and around 15 of the couple's guests also turned up in leathers on their bikes.

It was the perfect way to mark the union of mother-of-four Suzie and Gavin, who have both been married before, because they are both motorbike enthusiasts.

It was their love of the two-wheel machine that brought them together. They met three years ago at Rivington Barn, which is popular with bikers who meet up on a weekly basis, and became good friends. A year later, the couple set up home in Tonge Moor.

Suzie and Gavin grew up around motorbikes. Aircraft engineer Gavin owned his first bike at the age of 11. So when they got engaged on Christmas Day last year, they knew exactly how they wanted to say: "I do".

Friend Gayle Wilson was maid-of-honour and Suzie's 12-year-old daughter, Alison Dalton, was a bridesmaid, together with a friend's daughter, Danielle Leadbetter, aged six.

Care worker Suzie, whose three sons Joseph, aged eight, Christopher, aged 10, and Philip, aged 16, were also present, said: "We have been there and done it once before.

"Everyone does the white wedding and we wanted to be different, so we decided there was no better way than to incorporate our passion for motorbikes.

"It took a bit more organising than most weddings, but it was definitely worth it.

Gavin said: "We are delighted so many people made the effort. We both loves bikes and this shows our passion for them."

The two karaoke fans also pre-recorded their own wedding music for the ceremony, with Suzie singing "Wind Beneath My Wings" and Gavin singing "Can't Help Falling In Love With Sue".
