I WENT to the Art Exhibition organised by Bolton Museum and Art Gallery in the Newport Street area on Bank Holiday Monday, and was impressed with the pictures I saw.
What was not good was to see, during a short but heavy shower of rain, the artists struggling with sheets of plastic and umbrellas trying to protect their work, not without some paintings being ruined.
I understand this exhibition has been held annually for many years, but the artists' battle with wind and rain has so far has been ignored. I would have thought it would not be beyond the resources of Bolton Council to devise something to protect what seems to be a popular event.
