A DRIVER arrested after a Bolton car crash which left two people dead and three schoolgirls seriously injured has been released on bail again by police.
The 21-year-old man, from Bolton, was arrested following the accident in Bradford Street, the Haulgh, in the early hours of Saturday, May 1.
A red Mazda MX-5 went out of control shortly after midnight, careered on to the pavement and into a crowd of schoolgirls before hitting a lampost.
Two front seat passengers - Lisa Halligan, aged 36, a mother of two, of Daisy Street, Daubhill, and Michael Jefferies, aged 28, of Bury Road, Bolton - were thrown from the car and killed. The driver escaped injury.
Three 14-year-old girls suffered life-threatening injuries and are still recovering in hospital. A fourth suffered a broken leg.
The driver is due to be questioned again on September 23.
