EIGHT men, a woman and a youth have appeared in court charged with conspiracy to supply heroin.

James Gary Roper, aged 22, of Coverdale Road; Lee Anthony Burbridge, aged 21, of The Pungle; Jamie Sharples, aged 18, of Clough Avenue; Wayne Andrew Spencer, aged 30, of Drake Hall and Natasha Roper, aged 23, of The Pungle, all Westhoughton; Lee Adamson, aged 37, of Deane Road, Karl Houlder, aged 20, of Grisdale Road, both Deane; James Andrew Close, aged 20, of Hulton Avenue, Worsley and Dean Cooke, aged 21, of Bolton, all appeared before Bolton Magistrates Court charged with conspiracy to supply heroin.

A 17-year-old youth also appeared charged with the same offence and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Close is also charged with driving while disqualified, driving with no insurance, and robbery of £19,000 in cash.

All were remanded in custody apart from James Roper, Natasha Roper and Karl Houlder, who were granted conditional bail.

They will appear before Bolton Crown Court on September 9.
