MANY shop managers and supervisors regularly work excessive hours that put their health, safety and family lives at risk, says shopworkers' union Usdaw.
The union is building a case for ending the UK's "opt-out" clause on working time regulations which it will put to a Government consulation exercise next month. Usdaw is sending survey forms to more than 12,000 members in managerial and supervisory positions, which it hopes to use as part of its evidence.
