SHOPPERS and town centre workers can learn some amazing facts at Bolton Museum in a new series of free lunchtime talks.

Each month, staff at the museum in Le Mans Crescent will speak on quirky subjects which appeal to them.

The first one is on "Dinosaurs - Then and Now", when Bolton's resident expert David Craven looks at how public and scientific perceptions of dinosaurs have developed.

His talk will be held in the lecture theatre in the museum and library basement between 1.15pm and 1.45pm on Wednesday, September 15.

Other talks are planned on subjects such as the real lives of convicts transported from Britain to Australia.
