OPENING day hitches on two council-owned pitches saw two games called off in the Bolton Sunday League.
Bowling Green's game against Horwich Vic at Tonge Fold was postponed because the grass had not been cut to a high enough standard due to poor weather.
Tonge United's game against Greenwood at Green Lane, Horwich, was called off as council staff had not been able to put up any goalposts, again due to the recent rain.
In the Premier Division, Ladybridge and Armitage LC drew 2-2, Bradford Arms and Arkwrights drew 3-3, and Bulls Head beat Jolly Waggoner 9-2 at Queens Park.
Farnworth Canary won 10-2 at Smithills against AFC Heaton in Division One, while Britannia Farnworth beat Smithills 4-3 at Brook Street, and Piped Piper beat Greenfield 2-1.
