RUPERT Ladies A achieved the double for the first time after 25 years of leadership from proud manager Mick Draper.

They clinched the League Championship with their defeat of their B side B, then seized the Chadwick Cup in a superb game of rounders against Darcy Lever CC&S A.

Rupert opened the batting and Debbie Booth (13) and Anne Truffas (10) pushed the score to 42. Darcy lost seven players for zero, and struggled to score 22 runs against an excellent Rupert fielding side.

Rupert then piled on the pressure with a further 50 runs as Anne Truffas top scored with 21, 12 of those runs coming when she was left a lone batter.

Darcy approached their last bat needing 71 to win, but against a team in superb form, they were reduced to 35, leaving the score 92-57 in Rupert's favour.
