A BOLTON garage has been named one of the best in the country after success in a national competition recognising high achievers in the motor industry.
District Garage Limited, in Smethurst Lane, reached the finals of the Independent Garage of the Year contest, at the 14th annual Motor Trader Industry Awards. Representatives from the garage attended a glittering ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, to mark their success.
The awards - from the trade publication Motor Trader - recognise forward-thinking companies which strive to constantly improve their business. Employing 20 people and carrying out vehicle sales, repairs and maintenance for a number of private and commercial clients, District Garage became a member of the Seddon Group Ltd in 1982. The Seddon Group was founded over 100 years ago in Little Hulton, as G & J Seddon Limited.
Stephen Williams, a director at District Garage, said: "We were delighted to reach the finals. It recognises all the hard work and commitment the team puts in here. These awards attract a great deal of interest in the motor industry and at the ceremony there were 1,200 people."
