POST Office chief executive David Mills says that people don't mind waiting to be served because they like the chance to chat to other customers.
Mr Mills, we chat because we're British and we deal with queuing just like we do with most things - by making jocular off-the-cuff remarks and small talk to while away the time.
In other countries, they either barge to the front of the queue or complain loudly.
We DO, however, mind waiting for long periods - especially when we are on our lunch hour from work, or we have two screaming kids with us.
