TWO girls were rescued by firefighters after they became stuck on a church roof in Farnworth.
Fire crews were called to New Bury Church, George Street, at around 8pm last night where the pair, aged eight and 14, had climbed on to the flat roof of a single storey building.
It is thought the girls had climbed around 15 feet up a drainpipe but were then unable to get down again.
Friends on the ground called firefighters who used a ladder to reach the girls and help them climb down. They were stuck on the roof for about 10 minutes.
