I DON'T think people will be too shocked to find out there are approximately 187,000 registered charities in the UK.
Hence my two years as fundraiser for The Sycamore Project which operates Zac's Youth Bar in Farnworth has been quite a challenge to convince people ours is the one to support.
In four years Zac's has fortunately gained financial support to create a busy itinerary to provide a safe social venue for the young people of Farnworth, as an alternative to "hanging out" on the streets and an opportunity for children and young people with special needs to socialise.
We constantly thank the kind donors for whatever they provide and if publicity can pay them back I go for it!
However, I would like to share a touching situation for which the donor concerned would prefer to stay anonymous.
Four times over the past few months we have received an envelope filled with an assortment of stamps -- which obviously cut our postage costs considerably. As there is no name or address I cannot thank the donor but isn't it encouraging that someone out there is very thoughtful and kind.
