PLANS to build 12 apartments in Blackrod have been opposed by town councillors.
Signature Developments want to demolish an existing building in Black Horse Street and replace it with a three-storey apartment block, with 12 parking spaces. But Blackrod councillors said the scheme was contrary to planning policy.
Planning officers had advised that the new development would be larger than the existing building and that it could be considered obtrusive by Hill Lane residents.
The application will now go to Bolton Council's planning committee for a final decision.
